It is the story of a young engineering student who took up small contract works to pay his own way through college — and who, through sheer force of will, built that foundation into one of Chennai's most respected infrastructure enterprises, delivering over 2.20 million square feet of homes, commercial, industrial space, and community projects.
Beyond the construction site, Dr. Kumar R has demonstrated an equal commitment to community welfare. Through Creations Charitable Trust, he has channelled the fruits of his enterprise into healthcare, education, elderly care, disaster relief, and social inclusion.
From financing his own engineering education through contract work, to pioneering prefabricated concrete in Tamil Nadu, to exporting monumental stonework to Abu Dhabi — a record of first principles, executed with discipline across three decades.
Dr. Kumar R completed his B.E. in Civil Engineering from Madras University in 1989. Rather than depending on others, he financed his education by undertaking small construction and interior contract works — a practical schooling that ran alongside his academic one. That same year, he established CREATIONS, his first company in the construction sector.
Dr. Kumar R founded CREATIONS Concrete Prefab Products — a manufacturing unit for prefabricated concrete structures and precast hollow blocks in Kundrathur. This placed him among the first three pioneers of prefab concrete in Tamil Nadu.

What began as a modest development of six apartments in Balaji Nagar, near Kolathur, has grown into a gated community of 256 apartments — serving many families, with a commitment to sustainable housing and zero-carbon planning. This work has been delivered through a cohesive, purpose-driven partnership with his spouse Asha Marina S., B.E., M.S. (BITS Pilani), Director of Creations Promoters and Developers Pvt. Ltd.
Economic success, Dr. Kumar R believes, carries a moral obligation.
